Regarding DFHBMSCA AND BMS COLOR ISSUE

Hi folks,

I need DFHBMCA copybook detials with all DFH* (Color attribute fields declaration) .
I facing one problem in Map . Actually in my BMS i have both MAPATTS AND DSATTS = (COLOR,HILIGHT) in Map name definition(DFHMDI) and in my output copy books i have color attribute too. Even iam trying move DFHRED TO fieldO of output copybook but color is not reflecting in the screen . Please let me know whether i want to know any settings needs to be changed in 3270 emulator.

My current DFHBMSCA will have below declaration.
DFHRED PICTURE X VALUE IS '2'.

Hi,

Sorry i have updated wrongly , i have Moved to FieldC attribute only ,but still color is not reflecting on screen. I have used TYPE=&SYSPARM with MAPATTS and DSATTS coded on DFHMSD in bms.

Please help to sort out problem.

OK so back to basics.
You have NOT told us what colors you are seeing on your screen.
1) Are you seeing any colors (red, blue, white) on your screen from any other applications?
Or are you only seeing Green? What about fields in your map ?
2) Have you tried defining a test field to be (UNPROT,BRT) . This will display as RED - If it does not - let us know.

2) You mention you are using a TN3270 emulator. Have you checked the configuration options to ensure the colors are being mapped correctly?

If in (1) you ARE seeing color from other applications - then you need to post your map source and the code fragment where you are setting the field values and attributes and the SEND MAP.

Hi David Jackson,

Answers to your question.

The colors which iam able to see in the screen are Turquiose(PROT fields) and Green (Unprot fields) .

1) Iam not able to see Red or BLUE in any other applications , saw only the colors which said above.

2) Tried with (UNPROT,BRT) in bms as well as DFHBMBRY to attribute field(Field A) the color for this fields appears as white, dont know the reason why it is white ?.

3) I dont have authorization to look for 3270 emulator settings. The only things which i can able to see the color settings, even when i set as default but since the color is not reflecting when i throw the map.
Dont know the reason why ?
Please help if anything I miss here to check.

In your BMS Mapset, have you specified COLOR=xxxxx in either the DFHMSD or DFHMDI ???
e.g.
MT040 DFHMDI SIZE=(24,80),COLOR=TURQUOISE

IF however you are not seeing color from any other applications, I would suggest you speak to your local CICS Support and have them investigate this locally especially if you are using a 3270 emulator and cannot see your own config.

Hi David,

The issue is solved and and we contacted the cics admin and he make the setting for EXTEND ATTRIBUTES AND TERMINAL RESPONSE SUPPORT to be set and now it is fine.
