| Since you posted in the JCL forum, just what, exactly, do you mean by "temporary variable"? JCL has temporary data set names, parameters, but not really variables per se since JCL does not have any looping structure available. |

| Phil -- it's an Indian English numeric term representing 100,000. I have no idea how it came about, but there's several terms that scale up by 100 at a time -- so crore is 10 million. |
