Hi all
I often see a Dummy step at the beginning of JCL, can someone tell me what the function is this step? Thx! :D

Code:

//STEP01   EXEC PGM=IEBGENER
//SYSIN    DD DUMMY
//SYSUT1   DD DUMMY,DCB=(LRECL=4,BLKSIZE=4,RECFM=FB)
//SYSUT2   DD DUMMY
//SYSPRINT DD DUMMY

Hi,

ask people you work with, this is not exactly anything this forum can tell you apart from the step always returning a cc of 0.
