hi,
For example i have a VSAM KSDS dataset which is not in the extended format and used by several procs if suppose i am making this dataset as Extended Format Note the dataset has been used in various procs involving various cobol code whose access mode may vary accordin to the needs.
So should i have to use the AMP parameter in all the steps of various procs in order to finetune it and reduce the excp counts ???
Thanks,
#ari |

Please don't add your question to a topic inactive for most of a year. You need to start a new topic for a new question.
Using the AMP parameter is not something to automatically do -- you need to look at how each program uses the VSAM file to determine when an AMP parameter may help. |

The fact that a KSDS is extended or not is neither here nor there from my experience.
Go talk to your storage people about setting up a test version of the file, and then test all of your procs against the extended version. |
