Hi ,
We have a task of pulling a total allocated size for a data-set. Using ISMF panel option 1 we generated a report for each data-set one by one. My concern is that we need to run report for 150 different data-set . Is it possible to run a JCL to generate report for 150 different data-set at one shot. I knew this topic was discussed but that was only for 1 particular data-set here in this case it is for 150 different data-set based on their 1st HLQ(For example : HLQ.**) . Please provide me a solution in-order to bring-down the operation time. |

Hello,
Running 150 in one shot would reduce very little "operation time". All of the work would still have to be done for each dataset. If 1 dataset takes 1 unit of "operation", 150 should take about 150. . . |

Investigate use of Naviquest which is ISMF in batch, or something like DCOLLECT or FDREPORT, all of which can provide a list of all your files with space information and plenty more in a single operation.
Ask your local Storage Admin people who can probably help |
