IMS-DC MFS, query in creating new transaction

Hi,
I am new to IMS DC but have experience in IMS DB and in CICS. For one requirement, I am going to create a new screen and some logic in the IMS application program. Please clarify me:

1) If I create MFS (I use Changeman) and promote this component. How it links with actual transaction in IMS online? Can we create IMS transaction with IMS commands?

2) Right now I am creating only screen. Can I test this MFS alone in IMS online without creating any COBOL program right now? Is it necessarily to have source (COBOL) program even to test MVS?

I do not have any good material to explain variables/fields/macros used in MFS. If anybody has please share it to me.

Hello,

Your best course of acton is to talk with the IMS support prople for your system. They can tell you exactly what is needed to work on that system.

They are likely to be needed to define new "things" as well. Often (usually) new developers do not have the necessary security permissions.

Question 2. I don't know if this can be tested without code (i don't "do" IMS). Also, i suspect that "MVS" at the end of the question is a typo - if it is, i can fix it.

Your same support people should be able to tell you if you can test without cobol code.
