Hi ,
We are trying to identify the ip address of the PC, on which the current mainframe emulator is running.
We don't have the terminal-id or lterm in our mainframe sessions.Emulators are sna configured so it is not easy to identify the Ip adddress of the PC.
If we find the ip address then we will send a image from our other applications. Could someone provide your ideas on this solution? |

Hi ,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, the emulator is 3270 mainframe one.
Our solution demands a way to identify the ip address of the PC, on which the 3270 mainframe emulator session runs.
Reason for this requirement is that we need to identify the PC from which a request generated by the IMS online user through the emulator screens.
Please let me know, IF my explanation is not sufficient.. |

Hello,
If your 3270 connection is sna and the pc is able to connect to the web, both protocols ae being used on the pc.
The mainframe will not be able to directly connect to this particular pc via ip as the connection is not tcp/ip.
Also, if the pc is web-eabled, the ip address may be assigned dynamically. Many (most) places no lonter use static ip addresses.
As Enrico mentioned, you best source of info is your network support. |
