Hello,
If your organization is changing operating environments, IBM is probably already involved.
They (IBM) should be able to provide some worksheets that you would use to plan this. |

I worked on a project to do that once.
I was part of a team of more than a dozen people working on this.
We worked for many months to migrate, convert, compile, test, validate (get the point).
We even hired a firm with special software to perform the conversions on needed elements.
Any documentation would be the result of many thousands of man hours work.
Expecting someone produce such a document for you would be like asking Toyota for a document on how to build a car.
By the way we did this conversion in 1989. |

Hi All,
I did Google and i got only company names or links where they offer Mainframe OS conversion and didn't find any DOC's or Information related to that!!
What i meant here is , If you have any docs that says what is the minimum preparation(technically) we have to make before we start any migration ( VSE to MVS ) that would help me!! I am not asking as organization point of view , this is for my individual preparation bcz it may help me for better performance..
Anyways, thanks for your responses.
Regards,

Hello,
If anyone in your organization believes there should be "minimum preparation" they should probably not be part of the migration.
If the organization truly believes they want it done with little or no preparation, then define the new environment and start flailing away moving pieces. . .

Whether you buy in or not, this is an organizational undertaking and if you are to participate, you need to follow the direction the organization chooses. |
