sticky topics are not usually for questions and answer,
they will always come first in the topic list of any forum
and are used to have handy useful info or remainders

REXX is just another programming language with it' s own advantages and disadvantages

for example
- very strong string ( is not a pun ) handling capabilities
- very fast for quick prototyping

- very poor I/O performance

for all You might want to know about rexx
http://publibz.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr_OS390/Shelves/ISPZPM61

not the latest one but enough to get started

as far as examples there are quite a few on the forums

since I have them bookmarked here are some I wrote
http://ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=25947&highlight=
http://ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=35906&highlight=blocks+track
http://ibmmainframes.com/viewtopic.php?t=32494

but if You search You will find many other of them

if You have access to a zOS system
BROWSE... I said BROWSE the isp.sisp* datasets and You will find even more

Very, very few application projects have any rexx "requirement". . .
