how to protect the pwd in cics region

hi all,
In atm if we are entering our pwd it will display like(****) this only.
same * can i used in my cics programs. please give me some solution for this.

An example to think about -

When you use the CESN signon screen, where you enter your userid and password, do you ever see "*" for each password character entered?

This is because the password map field is defined as UNPROT,DRK so no characters are exposed in the open to any "prying" eyes.

So the answer to your question is; this is the way the CICS platform (3270, LU2) has done password protection (non-exposure) for decades and it works as advertised.

ATM platforms (such as Tandem, Stratus, etc), have this ability to display asteriks.

Remind these students that learning technical "things" is not a democracy. It doesn't really matter if they agree. It is most unlikely that the industry is going to change the way a "thing" is because a few students do not agree. . .

Tell them some old guy of your acquaintenance said so. . .

Possibly i have misunderstood. . .
