Hi All,

I have a compatibility issue when I FTP an excel file from mainframe. The problem is when I open the .xls file which is FTP'd from Mainframe, it opens in protected mode and to make any changes, it forces us to save it in .xlsx format.

Is there any way to avoid this problem? or Can we save the files directly in .xlsx format and then FTP them?

Thanks,
Ravi

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Are you really FTPing an Excel file or merely some delimited text file?

Suggest you talk with your Microsoft Office support people.

Hello,

Did this work with your previous release of Excel?

Suggest you open an issue with IBI suppoprt and ask if there is any difference when Excel 2010 is used.

As far as I know - with the Release of Microsoft Office 2007, extesion for spread-sheets (excel) is ".xlsx". If you have some file saved in "xls", which is an old way of saving spread-sheets, You're going to use "Compatibility Pack". But why to think that far, just save the file with ".xlsx" and make use of new MS-Office!
