Hi all,
There is a project on converting FOUCS Cobol into Cobol coming up for me.
I do not have any idea what "Focus Cobol" language is.
So I would appreciate if any one shares with me shared links or red books or references to FOCUS Cobol.

Thanks
G Sri Harsha

This is not about Micro focus cobol.
hte Focus i am talking about is generally used for reporting.
A file similar to copybooks that defines the input file fromat is called Master files and will take ddname as Master in the JCL.
A file how the report should be organized will be called FOCEXEC file and its DDname will be FOCEXEC.
The program executed through JCL is PGM=FOCUS
It has some key words like SET, PRINT etc.

This all the information that I currently gathered. I haven't got any access to actual programs right now; so I can provide only this much.
I hope this will be helpful in recalling if some one has already worked on this kind of "FOCUS".

if you would bother to search the forum, there have been several threads about focus.
there is one individual who seems very competent who often posts to these threads and gives advice.
I know that one of the threads mentions how one obtains manuals.

Hello,

The Focus you are looking at is from Information Builders. It is NOT a flavor of COBOL. It is a separate language.

Suggest you spend some time on the Information Builders web site:
www.informationbuilders.com/

From the home page, click on Services and Support and then Documentation. You will eventually want to get here:
documentation.informationbuilders.com/masterindex/html/search_s390_76.asp

Much of what you want is in the first set of manuals.
