Hi all,

In STEP 1 i Run a Batch SPUFI using IKJFT01

while the query is taken from

XXXX.YYYYY.ZZZZ(MEMBER)

and in STEP2 I want to Delete this MEMBER using IDCAMS

While deleting it says XXXX.YYYYY.ZZZZ is in use.

Can this STEP2 be done in the same JCL

My requirement is once i run the query i want to empty the PDS member
or delete the member.

Hello,

How did the query get into this member?

Suggest you post the jcl for the job and diagnostic info generated by the run.

TS probably has a disp=OLD in a dd statement for the pds(mem)

but, that is just a guess, it is early and for some reason just had to make a post.

I will Edit that MEMBER by creating it newly, I have Used DISP=SHR only

Any Suggestion to free this pds once this SPUFI runs.

I want to delete the same at the end of job.

no need to be sorry,
glad you were able to resolve your problem.

in the jes 1 or jes 3 dsid, not only did it say ds not available,
it often, though not always, will include the info as what job has the exclusive on the file.
