hi,

I am one of those aspiring developer to become an architect in near future. What are the steps or career path that leads to becoming an architect? Is there any certifications available or it by experience and interpersonal communication?

Thanks,
RZ061M

Are you driven by the word "architect" or there is some more to it? What drives you to know more about it? What you have searched for?

Software architecture is all about having a holistic view and seeing the bigger picture to understand how the software system works as a whole. In a way, this may help to differentiate software development and software architecture, however, it doesn't necessarily help to understand how somebody moves from development into architecture. Furthermore, it also doesn't help in identifying who will make a good software architect. Having said that, You should get in touch with someone at your shop who is in architect' role (as Dick has also pointed) and gather the info you seek for, later to make up your mind - what exactly you need.
