Why not just wait until some of the FTP experts come online.
There is no need to post another thread in relation to your previously posted one until it can be properly determined exactly what the problem is. |

FTP 421 means service not available. That could mean FTP is not started on the server you're attempting to connect to, or that the server is not using a standard FTP port to listen to (in which case you need to provide the actual port number), or various other reasons. Without more data -- which only your site support group can provide -- that's about all we can tell you. |

Robert, if you dont mind i want to add some more reasons :
not authorized
max connections reached
Im not sure a user limit can be increased.
So i would as a ftp user take care that im authorized and if so,
try to logon later, or using software that can schedule ftp sessions.
Damn, didnt see the previous post of the TS. Have to stop drinking this
early. |

Peter -- I only wish I could be drinking but 8 AM is a bit early here.
The "service not available" could be many things, some that can be changed and others that cannot. Based on the limited data provided by the TS so far, there is no evidence what the precise problem is and the TS insistence on increasing the user limit (which would depend upon the FTP software being used) may -- or may not -- have anything to do with actually solving the problem. |
