Hi,
I have a job which executes a proc1. This proc1 executes proc2.
How can I give override to a DD in the Proc2 from the jcl?
Please help me ASAP.
Thanks,
Paul. |

You can't. Unless of course the PROC is properly designed and the area for change is a symbolic. Apart from that - NO GO.

As a matter of forum courtesy, please do not ask for ASAP or similar. |

ASAP am sure are pathetic
a JOB does not execute a PROC,
a JOB invokes a PROC.
PROCS invoke PROCS
PROC invoke programs
The Operating system executes PROGRAMs.
can't override a nested proc.
had you bothered to read the manual,
done a search on this website,
you would have known that.
But I realize you are very, very busy as well as important,
and require others to do your thinking, researching, problem solving for you.
a properly constructed nested proc situation would have the necessary symbolics in place to provide this function.
that by the way is the solution. |

If making PROCs instream is an option...(though that will not be an override, as far as the definition of override goes)? |
