Hi,
I am new to IMS DB/DC. I have a requirement where in I have to change a length of one segment in a database. The database which needs change has logical relationship with another database. To successfully implement the change can anyone please tell me if the procedure below is correct.
1.dbr the databases
1.unload the database in to a flat file which requires the change and run a pre reorg
2.Run a program which converts this flat file in to a new file according to the new copybook structure of the segment.
3.change the DBD, do a dbdgen, acbgen. Here to generate the ACBGEN do we need to build the dbd to which logical relationships exist?(for eg if A is the database which needs the change and B is a database which has logical relationships with A. Do we need to build the database B also?)
4.reload the dbs with the new file, prefix resolution and prefix update.
5.start the dbs
6.take the image copy of the database.
7.compile all the programs which use this database.
Can anyone pls help me here?
Thanks in advance. |
