Hi,
Can anybody clarify if a view can be updated and if so, will the base table also be updated?

Hello,

Suggest you do some reading in the sql reference manual for your releaseof db2. Your understanding of a view is incorrect. . . Suggest you click on the "IBM Manuals" link at the top of the page and proceed form there.

A view is not a table - it is based on a table. There is no "base" table and then some other "thing" for the view. If a view is updated, the update occurs in the table on which the view is based.
