Resource contention :-- I hope u know multiprocessing(where multi task execute in the same environment).. so in the multiprocessing environment suppose there are only one Printer(resource) and this resource has been taken by job1 while job1 is bzy with Printer , Job2 is executing with the CPU ,Job3 is in the spool waiting for the Printer and so on... that's make the resource contention might for long time(if i say this problem as deadlock would not be wrong)..
Control card :- Control card are the statement which contain instruction,statement like
