Hi
I have question regarding CPU consumption. F
or approx same amount of processing , how much online will consume more than batch.
Say a module can be run in both batch mode and online . For same amount of application processing what will be the difference in CPU consumption. say 20% -30% more or even more..

Surely this is something that you would need to test yourself as every site will probably have different performance parameters set than other sites.
What my results would be may not be true for any other site. |

Maybe more, maybe less -- without extensive testing, there's no way to know for sure. And the answer will probably vary depending upon the precise mix of functions being accomplished. |

thanks guys for your inputs.
Can I say with reasonable assumption that the CPU Time will be with in (+-)50% tolerance. |

Same code?
Same "amount of application processing"?
Same CPU consumption.

Why would you expect any code to use less/more CPU in a different region? |

Hello,
I would expect that the elapsed time might vary but that the cpu time would remain very close.
If a million instructions are executed in batch and then the same million instructions are executed online, i would expect them both to use almost exactly the same cpu time. . .
If one or the other executed 1.5million instructions instead of the million, then i would expect a difference in cpu time used. |
