Hi All,

Here is my question.
Suppose if there are 200 Generations for a particular GDG.How can we delete generations from 1 to 199 leaving 200th generation alone.

Thanks..

rename the 200th generation
delete all entries
rename the 200th generation back to its original name

all to be done with idcams

depends where You start counting ...
if the one You want to keep is the last/youngest
You can alter the limit and reset it later ( look at the manual for the details )
if the one You want to keep is the first/oldest
You will have to delete them one by one

Since You did not tell enough
I told You what to do to ... delete the unwanted and return to the original situation

before... limit > 200 generations present 200
after setting limit to xx generations present xx
the unwanted will be delete/rolled off and the datasets scratched

if You want o go back to the previous pattern You have to set again the limit to the original one
