1) Which sort product do you use and also the release level may be useful.
2) What is the LRECL of the file
3) Positions, lengths and formats of the sort fields. |

The LRECL is 95
1-10 X-number PD
11-95 X-details CHAR |

Do you realize that the llbb of the VB record is embedded in the first four bytes?
If the file is VB, then the X-number would be 5-14 and X-details would be 15-99.
That would make the lrecl 99.....
The only difference between sorting a VB file and sorting an FB file is accounting for the llbb...... |
