I have a screen with five unprotected fields aligned vertically. Cursor is positioned on first field. I need to the cursor to move to fourth field when tab is pressed. Is there a way to achieve this? |

Hello,
Protect fields 2 & 3? Or move field 4 "up".
Tab goes to the next unprotected field - it is a 3270 feature. . . |

Set the right parenthesis or the byte after the last keyable map-field to PROT (not ASKIP).
If a clerk is moving along very quickly through map-fields and entering data, letting their "fingers do the walking", as soon as they hit this PROT byte, they'll realize they're at the end of their map input.
Setting this byte to ASKIP could cause them to wraparound and type over map-data which they've already entered, whereas, PROT will stop them.

Mind if I ask why you want an unintuitive navigation? |
