Dear Experts,

One of the production job loaded the data into the Production DB2 Table and immediately taken the Imagecopy in the subsequent step.

Requirement:
I want to load the Imagecopy into the TEST DB2 Table. How to write the jcl, please help me.

But,
1) I don't have the READ access on the Production table. (It's a big process to get the READ access, as table belongs to other application)

2) The input that loads into the table gets deleted.

3) I have only left with the IMAGECOPY file. Which is in NON-READABALE format.

4) I want to load the Imagecopy into the respective TEST DB2 Table. Please give me a sample JCL.

Hello,

Work with the dba (or someone who has read access to those table(s)) to create a loadable sequential copy of the data that you have permission to read.

You will also need to have the dba set up your id so that you can load into the test database table(s) if you do not already have this. Many places restrict the use of the database utilities.

Dear Dick,

You are absolutely correct.
I have already initiated the process to get the temporary READ access on those Production tables to continue my testing.

By this, at the worse case, I will get the READ Authorizations by Tuesday. Of Course the problem gets resolved.

But First time, I came across Image copies and it's a learning opportunity for me to explore about the Image copies.

I opinoned that, On Mainframe projects, a developer gets a Challenging tasks occassionally. this is of the same type as far as I'm concerned.

Please help me how to explore about Imagecopies.

Thanks in advance.

In this day of many silly things done in the name of "security", your "opportunity to explore" may be limited (depends on your organization). At one of my clients, i am not able to access Production tables or backup data.

You may have to settle (for now) using the manuals or lookkng for previous topics in the forum.

Depending on your projected "things to do" it may be a good time to have your management assign you additional permissions.
