What does the CA-7 manual tell you? |

I don't think CA-7 is concerned with how long jobs run but rather jobs that are not meeting their schedule. You could probably take one of the CA-7 reports, write it to a file, and manipulate it to get run times but that's not going to be very dynamic.
Perhaps the first question is, why do you need this information? And what has your site support group told you so far about your request? |

Hi Robert,
This is part of 'Process Improvemnt' activity where i am looking for jobs that have longer (elapse time) run time (say 2 hours or more). I want to avoide looking each job mannualy and want to come up with a list of jobs that may satisfy above mentioned criteria.

I've looked at the LACT command of CA-7 and there's nothing to specify a time period in it. If you want immediate information, I suggest you open a problem ticket with CA and see what they say. If you are looking for historical data (not up to the minute), contact your site support group and see if they have some way to extract SMF data each day for you. |

CA Support is the url -- sign on using your authorized id (if you don't have one, either contact your site support group and have them open the ticket, or sign up for an id using your CA site number), after which you click Open A Case on the left side of the screen, fill in all the data, and click the submit button. |

If this is your intention, suggest you get in touch with your site-support group, they must be having such reports already. On the other hand, 2-hrs or more, uh...well how does this magic term coined out - jobs could be I/O bound! |
