Hi,
Sorry to post my question in here. Since I couldn't find a forum for VAGen, I posted my question in here.
Does anyone have work experience in Visualage Generator for Cobol?. I need to create a SEQ file in VAGen program and need to use that file within a jcl. I'm not sure how to do that. So please reply to my question if you have used a file in VAGen program and referenced it in jcl.
Thanks in advance |

You may have trouble finding anyone with this experience. From IBM's web site:
Quote: |
Effective September 2008 VisualAge Generator will be withdrawn from marketing and effective September 30, 2009, VisualAge Generator will be withdrawn from service. IBM has provided a migration path for VisualAge Generator users to Rational Business Developer. Please see the Rational Business Developer site for more information. |

Oh - wow. VISGEN not yet dead and buried?
I was forced to use this piece of c**p software years ago.
Are the developers out of jail yet? Whoever dreamed up this ugly programming scheme - I hope you're doing penance - seving meals at homeless shelters or something like that.
If decent training (including motivationj for its "features") had been available, then I would hope for just probation for those folks.
Don't RIP VISGEN - die painfully, just like the times I spent trying to write decent and honest code. |
