Hi,

I am using the below TSO script to allocate my REXX PDS to SYSEXEC library.

Code:
EXECUTIL SEARCHDD(YES)
ALLOC FILE(SYSEXEC) DATASET('USER.REXX.EXEC') SHR REUSE

The problem I am facing is that all the existing PDS associated to SYSEXEC is freed and then only "USER.REXX.EXEC' is allocated to SYSEXEC.

Please advise on the following
1. How to concatenate my PDS to the existing SYSEXEC library.

2. How to concatenate my PDS to the existing SYSEXEC library permanently. i.e when I login to a new session, my PDS should be part of the SYSEXEC library.

3. I have added one of my REXX PDS to SYSUEXEC library, and used the
below ALTLIB command.

Code:
TSO ALTLIB ACTIVATE USER(EXEC).

But when I displayed the ALTLIB details using

TSO ALTLIB DISPLAY

I can only see
Code:
IKJ79322I Current search order (by DDNAME) is:
IKJ79327I System-level EXEC       DDNAME=SYSEXEC
IKJ79328I System-level CLIST      DDNAME=SYSPROC

But I can execute my REXX EXEC in the SYSUEXEC library.

Please let me know whether "ALTLIB DISPLAY" will display SYSUEXEC in the details?

Why can't you just use the libraries already provided at your site? Or, does your site provide some way for you to automatically include a private library to your TSO/ISPF concatenations?

I've found two methods that I prefer:

Use the QBASELIB ISPF Service for SYSEXEC. QBASELIB will return to a variable all of the libraries allocated to that DD. Then all you need to do is add yours to that list and use the TSO ALLOCATE command for all of the datasets in the list.

Use the BPXWDYN command to concatenate a new dataset to an existing DD.

You'd have to modify your TSO startup JCL and change the library allocations. This is something you most likely won't be able to do. What have your Sysprogs said about this?

Hi Superk,
Thanks for your help. By using QBASELIB ISPF service I could able to concatenate my library to SYSEXEC.

Code:
ADDRESS ISPEXEC "QBASELIB SYSEXEC ID(VAR1)"
VAR3 = VAR1||","||"'"||VAR2||"'"
"ALLOC FILE(SYSEXEC) DATASET("VAR3") SHR REUSE"
