Does any one let me know how to setup the OPC application /JObs as a time dependent ? Like some of the JOBs should run based on the particular time frame and also with predecessors.
Thanks ,
Rukma. |

The answer is in the manual(s).
These are readily available from the IBM website if your peers do not know, or will not tell you where your site copies are. |

Here is a link to IBM Redbooks for OPC
apparently, OPC is part of TIVOLI,
which means you can go to the IBM LIbrary Server Library
and enter TIVOLI as a search argument.
you should bookmark both these sites,
they are the path to your manuals in the future. |

Thanks for details for showing the location for finding the document ,
But want to know where the topic located in the Tivoli/OPC document - which explains the options to schedule a job with the predecessor & also the time dependent (like for example i need a XYZ job to run at 3:00P even though the predecessor was successfully completed at 1:00P )
Appreciate if you could get me those details ?? |

Hello,
Click on the IBM Library Server Library link above and enter tivoli workload as the "find" criteria.
From the returned list, look thru/search the documentation for your release of the product. |

Hi rukmakiran,
I'm assuming that you are from scheduling team based on that I'm writting the below points.
1. While creating the jobs inside a application make the jobs as time dependent by below options in OPC that
Code: |
4 AUTOMATIC OPTIONS - Job, WTO, and print options |
In Automatic options will have jobs release options shown below,
Code: |
ob release options:
Submit : Yes
Hold/release : Yes
Time dependent : YES
Suppress if late : No |
Time dependent YES indicates that job is Time dependent.
Code: |
6 TIME - Time specifications |
Time specifications specifies when the job to run.
hope this helps. |

Hi rukmakiran,
It was better choice to talk with your scheduling team.
I think you are having access only for monitoring not to update any application in OPC data base. |
