Hello and welcome to the forum,
You need to provide something for people to use to help you. . .
What are the dsorg and lrecl of the 200 input files? What is the use of the pds?
One way to do what you want is to manually allocate a pds of the proper specifications (with no info provided, no suggestion can be made about this dataset) and then copy the existing files into a different member for each "input" fioe (unless some of them are to be ocmbined).
You could copy these manually (size permitting) or in a series of batch steps. |

Hi Dick,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I need to archive all those files including 200GDGs (PS,FB, length 190) x 5levels and 8 PS file(PS,FB, length 80) into the new PDS.
Indeed, I can add a step in my JCL to create the new PDS. |

Hello,
If the requirement is to archive these files suggest you consider using adrdssu. Using this, all of the files can be backed up in one "step" and the differences in the attributes will not be a problem. Any of the individual files could then be retrieved if needed.
Your storage management people should be able to show you some already existing adrdssu backups that you could clone for your use.
There are also several such topics in the forums - use the forum SEARCH above. |
