I believe I already know the answer for this, but is it possible to use the LM services to find the create date for tape datasets?

I have the ability to access the our TMS facility, but I would much rather use a LM service, if possible.

I'd bet LM only works for disk files.

LISTCAT has been mentioned before but keep in mind that the date the catalog entry was created may not be actual creation date.

TMS is the best method. Are you thinking of calling TMM macros in your program or just doing batch inquiries?

I believe you are right. I never could get LMINIT to work with a tape dataset.

It would be for batch inquiries.
