I need to check the status code of a job(first job) through another job(second job). Depending upon the status code returned by the first job the second job will raise or not raise an imr. Could anyone let me know how this could be done

Suggest you get in touch with the scheduling people at your shop, these set-ups vary from shop to shop.

Unless I'm mistaken - IMR is Incident Management Record, which is used here in connection with IBM Tivoli® Information Management for z/OS™ (InfoMan).
