There is a requirement of removing or stopping DB2 table maintenance jobs thus reducing CPU usage. This is because 65% legacy modernization has taken place and DB2 related stuffs are yet to be decommissioned. My understanding is that we should first have list of the dependent coponents using those tables. I already have the list of tables that need to be decommisioned. How to know precisely what all components (programs, query etc) are using those DB2 tables?

One is endevor scan of programs for the table name. Second is scanning all JCLs, PROCs and SYSIN control cards for the table name.

Is there any approach document which explains other factors that we need to consider or the sequence in which we should adopt this methodology?

Thanks in advance.

You will be able to use the SYSIBM.* table to find the programs. For example SYSIBM.SYSTABAUTH table will list the programs accessing the tables.
