Hi,
I am getting ASRA abend when the STARTBR of the VSAM file is getting executed. I have verified to see that all the key fields of the VSAM file is getting values. The VSAM files are in remote region. Can someone please let me know how to solve this abend?
Thanks in advance! |

You missed one, what instruction in your program caused the abend? |

Hi Gupta,
Welcome to the forum...
Posting that program is ABENDing with ASRA is too high level for us. It would be much better if you could provide more information.
1. Which language the program is running.

2. How do you say the ABEND has occured at STARTBR. Have you tried HANDLE ? or checking the EIB RESP fields ?
Most of the times, ASRA is related to some incorrect memory access. Please do verify that. |

Sorry guys for the delayed response.. I got the answer. I added the EIBRESP to the STARTBR command and I got EIBRESP=53 and EIBRESP2=130.
That was because the VSAM files were in remote region.
Thanks for your help!! |

The explainations of the resp codes are as below
EIBRESP=53 - SYSIDERR.
EIBRESP2=130 - The SYSID option specifies a name that is neither the local CICS region nor a remote system defined by a CONNECTION definition. SYSIDERR also occurs when the link to the remote system is closed. |
