hi ,

I have an input file with 105 records . i want to split the records into 3 files in such a way that the first 30 records goes to file 1 , the next 30 goes into the 2nd file , the next 30 goes into file 3 . The remaining goes to file 1 . i.e for after every 30 records is written , the next 30 must be written into the next file and next 30 to next file.

how do i accomplish this using sort

Use these DFSORT control statements:

Code:

  OPTION COPY
  OUTFIL FNAMES=(OUT1,OUT2,OUT3),SPLITBY=30
