STRNO(number|2) Specifies the number of requests (RPLs) requiring concurrent data set positioning that VSAM is to be prepared to accommodate.

If you are running version 1.7 or later of z/OS, any value you provide will be ignored as the system will tune the value itself. Prior to 1.7, give a larger value than the default 2 since this is a catalog. Then monitor your RMF and if you see SYSZRPLW/catalogname then you'll need to do an ALTER to increase STRNO for the catalog.
