Moderator: split from this topic

This is useful to me, thanks for the post. However there is a small trouble,
suppose In input file we have 1000 files and out of those 1000 files some are FB and some are VB, what should we do?
I have tried but for VB File its giving error that LRECL not matched
Even i have tried using VTOF....but its not working
Used VTOF as
C' OUTFIL
FNAMES=OUT',45,3,C',VTOF,REMOVECC,NODETAIL,',/,

Regards,
Sajjan

Hello Sajjan,

The way this was split makes the "linked topic" invalid, it appears. . .

From the bit that made it to this "new" topic, it is not clear what you want to do.

Please post your actual requirement as well as the info thet "it's not working". Post the problem jcl and the diagnostic information generated by the run.

Sajjan,
Input Data Sets--SORTIN and SORTINnn
The following rules apply to concatenated data sets:
RECFM must be either all fixed-length or all variable-length for the data sets in the concatenation.

Dick,
Did Sajjan do that or a mod

I suspect 'twas a moderator as i don't believe non-mods can split topics. . .
