We have a requirement of appending current date at the end of the file that is being NDM'ed. Need suggestions to do so. |

Your title and question do not match up.
Do you want to create a file with a date suffix, a control statement with a date suffix, both, neither.
Please explain clearly what it is that you want.
Either way, the topic has been discussed enough times for you to use the search facility. |

Date to be suffixed at the end of the target file in the format CCYY-MM-DD. |

Please explain clearly what it is that you want.
Start from the beginning and put some detail in the request.
Something like ............................ if I understand correctly
A file is created by one of our batch jobs which is then transferred to another location.
At the second location the file needs to be renamed to its original name with a date suffixed.
I am using NDM to perform the transfer and wish to know if it is possible to automatically update the control statements to do this rather than a manual task.
And if I am correct ........................

While transferring the target file name needs to be appended with current date in format YYYY-MM-DD.

%JDATE function appends the date in YYYYDDD format, if you need date in some other format, as you've asked, you cannot substring these parms, as they are evaluated at submit time. Looks like "the value" will have to be supplied from outside the process as a variable. There are some other functions, but off-hand, not very sure.
As expat has said, search the forum on "EZACFSM1" it may give you couple of hints to start with what you're looking for. |

The Connect:Direct Process language allows you to specify pre-defined variables for current system date and time values. I know that one is the date in YYYYMMDD format (without the dashes).
It's unknown at this point know what you want YYYY-MM-DD to represent (system date, file date, processing date, cycle date, etc.).
Outside of that, you can certainly have a prior job step generate a proper date value in the manner you need, and then of course that data can be passed into your Connect:Direct batch input parameters. As has already been stated, there are many, many topics that deal with doing this, so you should certainly be able to find a method that works for you. |
