Hello,

There is no such "tso command" that i'm aware of. . .

What is a "normal PS? Typically, to get data from a database table into a sequential file, one uses UNLOAD or some bit of code to select the needed info.

Dick, we don't have DB2 where I work, but, if I remember correctly, isn't the SPUFI command available in TSO?

Unfotunately, you've explained your probelm in a very poor manner - "normal PS" does not make any sense, did you mean QSAM (flat file)? If yes, what are your options - QMF? dsntiaul? or..?

If you have QMF, may be "import/export" are the commands which you might be referring as "TSO commands" but they are not TSO commands, they are QMF specific commands.

DB2 runs as just other sub-system on z/OS, but there is no native TSO/ISPF command to talk it directly...AFAIK.

Hi Kevin,

Yup, SPUFI is usually available on db2 systems, but i'd probably not call it a command icon_smile.gif

It is usually an entire sub-Menu from the main tso/ispf primary menu:
Code:
DB2Q  PRIMARY OPTION MENU          SSID: DSNQ
COMMAND ===>

Select one of the following DB2 functions and press ENTER.

 1  SPUFI                  (Process SQL statements)
2  DCLGEN                 (Generate SQL and source language declarations)
3  PROGRAM PREPARATION    (Prepare a DB2 application program to run)
 4  PRECOMPILE             (Invoke DB2 precompiler)
5  BIND/REBIND/FREE       (BIND, REBIND, or FREE plans or packages)
6  RUN                    (RUN an SQL program)
 7  DB2 COMMANDS           (Issue DB2 commands)
 8  UTILITIES              (Invoke DB2 utilities)
D  DB2I DEFAULTS          (Set global parameters)
 X  EXIT                   (Leave DB2I)
