We have a Cobol IMS program run as DLI and which unloads data.
It is using 'USERREAD PCB(XXXXXXXX)' control statement in PLUSIN DD statement .
Does anyone have an idea of what is the use of USERREAD PCB...and what is there in PCB(). In some of jcls, XXXXXXXX matches DBD name and and in some it is matching PSBNAME.
Regards,
Ajay |

That sounds like a site-specific stuff - please post the part of the JCL showing the above said details, we might do a guess work or ask some senior at your shop... |

I had talk with my tech services team and as per them the advantage is that it tells ims to give you your own buffers to read the database specified in the userread card, for faster processing
Thank,

I'm not very sure about that, so they provide some manuals/IBM-link to refer?
Probably, Sandy knows about it... |

PLUSIN is a dd statement related to some BMC utilities
ask Your support about ...
the whole thing meaning
the location of the BMC manuals so that You can find out by Yourself
You could have found this hint Yourself by googling for IMS PLUSIN DD
