Hi Experts,

"PRLS.IN.IMAGE.CM509A.DATA HAS RBA=3.026GB,EXT=18 "

Above message was passed by system support team. They want application programmer to take action on this.

PRLS.IN.IMAGE.CM509A.DATA - its data component of the KSDS file PRLS.IN.IMAGE.CM509A

What does it mean ? Only after i know that I can think of what action need to be taken icon_biggrin.gif

Did they clarify what action needs to be taken, or just say that action needed to be taken icon_rolleyes.gif

What is the problem, did they tell you. Maybe the size is approaching the 4GB limit and they are not bright enough to implement extended facilities. Maybe the extents have breached some magical limit.

They are the people to talk to, not us. They know what goes on at your site, not us.

Hello,

My guess is that this was presented by some home-grown "early-warning" utility. . . Possibly there is a 3gb "trigger". . . Possibly no action is necessary. . .

Only someone local would know or be able to find out, i suspect. . .

thanks to you all for replies. Sorry being late here.

this warning message is generated by some sort of utilities that storage guys run. Most of you were correct in the statement that this VSAM is reaching 4GB limit.

After discussing with storage team we found that they just want us to requst them to make it extended VSAM.

now I this file is just an image of another file (used online) original file is almost 2/3 of this size.

What could make a VSAM size larger un-necessary?

Once again thanks to all expert !

Maybe the original gets reorg'd more frequently, or has a different FSPC setting, or is compressed.

Again, you need to talk to the people who know at your site.
