Hi I am new to FDR and we have a situation here where we see some DSN's that get uncataloged and get to some volser staring with #23456(which actually does not exist) and when we try to recall it gets recalled then it is unusable.

I was wandering how does it get to the #*** volumes(in 3.4 it shows as Migrat1 status).

We have a job here which reports on such DSN's and then we take action by recalling nad then delete it.

Please advice.

You need to contact your site storage administration group and raise your questions with them. You are asking site-specific questions which we will be totally unable to answer, since we don't know your site.

Do you know if the site once had DFHSM and converted to FDR? Maybe these are a hangover from that. FDRABR used to have a volser of ABRARC1 or ABRARC2 for its version of migrated files.

If you do have FDR you could try using FDREPORT. Print the manual by running this JCL. It can list most of the information you'd require if you do have FDRABR migration and backup:
//FDREPORT EXEC PGM=FDREPORT
//SYSUDUMP DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//ABRMAP DD SYSOUT=*
//ABRSUM DD SYSOUT=*
//SORTLIB DD DSN=SYS1.SORTLIB,DISP=SHR
//SYSIN DD *
XHELP ALL

Failing that contact Innovation tech support
