Hello,
After participating here for over 5 years, you might have noticed that in order to get help, you need to provide somethng useful to help you. . .
That you did not is most likely why there have been no replies. . .
Are you trying to use your sort product? If yes, which sort is used on your system? If no, which utility are you trying to use?
Show the actual inputs and the output you want when those inputs are processed. Mention the relevant data positions as well as the recfm and lrecl of the files.
Then maybe someone will have a suggestion. |

Hi Dick,
I have to admit I'm guilty your honour as I have often missed things by reading the text and forgetting the subject.

Dick, Gerry,
don't feel bad. Most posters only seem to read the last response to their questions, ignoring the intervening posts. |

if the date format is the same and You need to test only for equality
a char comparison on the whole field might be enough without worrying about conversion issues |
