Hi,
Does any one knows about any free debugging tool for online program testing (similar to Xpeditor or CA intertest)?
Regards,

if you have bought CICS, you have EDF - essentially a free debugging tool. |

As dick points out, CICS comes with a free debugger.
Try using the CEDF transaction. |

In addition to CEDF, if the target transaction is not attached to a terminal (required for CEDF), there is CEDX, introduced with CICS/ESA 4.1 (about 10-12 years ago) and is included with all versions of CICS/TS at no cost.

IMHO, if you spend more time using CEDF/CEDX, you will become more technically sound. As opposed to the $500,000.00 3rd-Party debuggers (IE: XPEDITER), which hold your hand and serve you everything on a silver platter, getting down into the nitty-gritty of debugging will make you more of a valuable resource to many companies.
Besides, due to enormous costs and fees, not all shops have 3rd-Party debuggers so, mastering CEDF, CEDX as well as having the ability to decipher Transaction Dumps, is always a plus and something you can hang your hat on.
I always get a kick out of some "Guru" who is conducting an interview and when you start reciting memorized Op Codes and explain what a PSW represents and other facets which might be foreign to the interviewer (so much for the "Guru" label), they become wide-eyed and realize, that they're in more trouble than a squirrel on a six-lane highway.

Thanks to all of you for suggestions. I will try to use CEDF/CEDX and see how much it helps.
