We have endevor for compiling COBOL pgm and we are instructed to use only LNKPARM.
I would like to know what is the difference between LNKPARM and COBPARM ?
we use both LNKPARM and COBPARM to compile to COBOL pgm, but we are not clear when to use what and why it should be used.
What are the other benefits using LNKPARM than other vise-versa.
Thanks

Without seeing the expansion of the JCL, which is site-specific, we can only guess. Based on the names, COBPARM should (but may not) be the COBOL compile parameters passed to COBOL while LNKPARM should (but may not) be the linkage editor (binder) parameters. The only way to know for sure is to contact your site support group and get their assistance in understanding the parameters and their differences. |

I second Robert's guesses. Site specific. |

These could be interesting/educational to learn, but as far as use, the site standards should be followed.
If everyone picks and chooses what they will specify, it causes many problems. . . |
