Mainframe FTP batch job is failing intermittently with Connection Reset on both GETs and PUTs. When job is rerun, it runs fine. How can I restart the FTP right in the same job, so I do not have to manually rerun the job? Is there a way to do this?

My policy for FTP, when not using an FTP management tool, is to ALWAYS run the FTP from within a program so that logic can be applied and program control placed over the overall process.
Outside of that, I'd have my Production Support team make the job auto-restartable in the scheduling system, again with some programmatic logic applied to the overall process. |
