hi
i have a gdg which has 40 generation all have the 80 as record length.
now i need to use a new outfile generation 81 for which i need to have record lenght of 88 and then i need the next generation outfile 82 to have the same 80 record length.

Hi,
Please go ahead and code LRECL parameter with desired value for each generation. |

File attributes are associated with the individual generations, not with the GDG base. |

If you have such varied needs, why not use different sequential files? |
