I had issues while running a Sort program with 2 VSAM datasets concatenated. None of the datasets are empty and the output file is also a sequential dataset.
The error message i have noticed is, IEC161I 025-082
I have read the manuals related to the error message and it says the VSAM datasets cannot be concatinated.
Is it an MVS or SORT limitation?
Do we have any other utilities or tools to solve the purpose. Any information regarding this would be appreciated.
Let me know, if more details are required on the error message. |

This is an operating system feature. . .
If the files are not huge, you could repro the data to qsam files and concatenate them.
You might also sort them individually and then merge the 2 sorted files. |

It is a z/OS system restriction. |

Had it been a SORT limitation, the error message would most likely have had one of the following prefixes: ICE, WER, or CA. |
