Now DFSMShsm is not active in our environment. I want to delete one of migrated datasets (ie) catalog entry, because the actual dataset has been scrached from that tape. |

I can only suggest DELETE NOSCRATCH, but DFHSM may have other things to say about that |

Hello, did you read the part about HSM NOT being active.
So why is HSM not active.
Has it been stopped for a specific reason,
Has it been replaced by another product.
How do you know that the dataset has been scratched from that tape. |

Hello,
If HSM is not going to be used anymore, why does it matter if the dataset is "on that tape" or not? |

If you have an OEM catalog utility you could probably scratch the entry with that as it may avoid the HSM call.
Failing that create a temporary usercatalog, repro mergecat the specific entry entry to that, and then delete the temporary usercatalog. Highly likely this function would be RACF restricted to the Storage Admin people though. |
