Hi,
I am working on DB2 v9.1 z/os.
I need to increase the RID pool size for our system. As far as i understand RID pool is used for the row id sorts which helps the optimizer during multi index access, joins etc...
In my system the present RID pool size value is 8000(i guess the default).
In the installation guide following eqn is given for calculating the same-:
Quote: |
number of concurrent RID processing activities * average number of RIDs * 2 * 5 (bytes per RID) |
Please guide me in finding the approx values for the same eqn. ie how should i proceed to find the "number of concurrent RID processing activities " and "average number of RIDs * 2 * 5 (bytes per RID)"
Please correct me if i am wrong anywhere. |

I think Visual Explain will contain the statistics you desire. |

IBM TivoliĀ® OMEGAMON XE for DB2 on z/OS contains all information that Visual Explain contains.
Furthermore, Visual Explain is free, no licence is needed. but it has been substituted by Optimization Service Center from DB2 v9.1. |
