Hi can any one say what are all the different ways to submit the jcl jobs.
solutions:
By giving SUB in the command line.
By giving J infront of the job name after opening the pds member.
Give me some more ways...
By using SJ in spool area. |

expat, I would guess homework -- surely interview questions are at a higher level ?!? |

Not sure that this one is an interview question, because what is being asked makes sense |

I'd say two 'freshers" put a bet for this weekend!
PS. What would be the use of that list, I wonder. |

Hi,
I too think its a homework.
since it has been asked, I will share what I know.
Scheduler applications like CA7, Control M can submit jobs.
You can submit a job through internal reader.
Connect Direct allows you to submit jobs at a predefined time. Somewhat like a scheduler.
I think it can be done by REXX also, by ADDRESS TSO, (Not sure).
hope this helps.
Thanks & Regards, |

Good question, Anuj -- I can think of at least eight ways (three of which are variations of a theme) to get a job into the system. |

I usually put all my bits into a pail ( certified of course ),
stir everything until I get a nice foam,
and pour everything into the CD slot of the HMC |

enrico, I try not to tell people about the CD slot of the HMC since people immediately start wanting to load software into the mainframe from it. So ... SSSSHHHHHHH!!!!!! |
